A colleague told me how she was journeying one day and a lady on the train was calmly painting her nails. She (said colleague) starts coughing, lady pays no attention. She increases the intensity of her cough hoping for some consideration, no luck. She then decides to speak up asking her to stop as it is aggravating her asthma. It’s half term and commuter numbers have reduced. In this season, one is always guaranteed a seat. Here I am sitting and there’s no one standing in the aisles. I notice the guy opposite me.
